Making the vegan diet easier with EFT
I believe that many people start vegan diets with the best intentions. They want to reduce their impact on the planet and protect the animals.
But, slowly, the social pressure with friends and families start to permeate, and the doubts that we have about the viability of the diet start to grow. The news about other types of diets abound, as well as the messages claiming that vegan diets lack necessary nutrients. Also, any other hurts that we have with the concept of “dieting” and restricting the number of available foods can create a growing emotional distress.
For this reason, I believe that EFT can greatly help with feeling better with a vegan diet. It can make the experience feel easier, and we can choose to eat how we like without feeling the stress.

How I used EFT
There is a lot of information about diet out there. Backed by different philosophies, diets promise health, spirituality or environmental protection.
Personally, I have followed a vegan diet since 2018. It started when I went to Liverpool on Erasmus, and I met several vegan and vegetarian people. Before this, the thought of not eating animals had crossed my mind, but I hadn’t really given it a thought.
I had also found online that the vegan diet worked really well for some people with eczema. I was interested in the ethical side, but at that point my objective was to improve my skin.
I gave it a go at the start of 2018 when I came back to Madrid. At that time, the eczema started to get worse and it got to a point where it probably was the worst it’s ever been in my life. I really liked the philosophy of a vegan diet, but my skin was in a really bad state. I couldn’t help but attribute my skin getting worse to the vegan diet (I now attribute the worsening of my skin due to the choice of being vegan, and how dared I make such a big choice by myself).
My suspincions increased when I found conflicting information regarding the diet, with some people claiming online that vegan diets don’t have all the essential nutrients, despite being lots of research on the contrary. I tried many variations within the vegan diet, with supplements, elimination of gluten, reduction of nickle-rich foods, etc. but it was still bad, consistently bad.
So, once I discovered EFT, I decided to try it on everything related to the diet. I tapped on the feelings and beliefs that I had regarding all the foods that I was eating and the foods that I wasn’t eating (meat, fish, eggs, etc.). One of those beliefs was that one could not live without ever eating meat, and that only eating vegetables and legumes was lacking in some way.

I tapped on all of these aspects consistently, when I was relaxed at home and before and after eating when I felt that something came up. I tapped on individual foods and how my body was receiving them, and was amazed when I started to see the changes in perspective as the emotional charge related to the foods started to go away. The doubts that I had with the diet started to fade away. I didn’t make any changes to what I was eating, but I started to feel better about it and more relaxed.
Soon, the food that I was eating didn’t bring up any doubts inside, and I started to feel that it wasn’t contributing to the state of my skin. I accepted all the foods that I was eating so I started to enjoyed my foods more. This lifted a great weight from my shoulders.
I believe that taking the pressure of my diet was one of the factors that contributed to the eczema going away, as well as working on memories and relational hurts of the past and present.
